Tonya MartinTonya Martin, Publisher /  Editor-In-Chief

Tonya began her journey in Maryland, then headed north to Philadelphia, where she earned a BA in Communications/Journalism at Temple University.  While in Philadelphia, she worked in production at Temple University Press, and later as an editor at Current Science, a UK-based publisher.  Tonya ultimately landed in New York City and the children’s book publishing world there, where she is best known for her work at Scholastic, Incorporated, which included K.A. Applegate’s top-selling series (Animorphs, Everworld, and Remnants), R.L Stine’s Give Yourself Goosebumps franchise, The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not license, and many others.

During her time in the Canadian book publishing world, Tonya worked as the Children’s Editor at Raincoast, as Editorial Director at House of Parlance Media, and Editor-In-Chief of BENJAMIN brown books.

Meghan and Tonya met during their time at Raincoast Book Publishing and realized that their mutual love of bookmaking resulted in some pretty amazing titles. It was only a matter of time before they decided to acquire and create books on their own.  The result is McKellar & Martin, Ltd.

“McKellar & Martin” is a tribute to Meghan’s grandmother, Mary, and Tonya’s father, Clifton, both of whom were guiding influences in their lives and career choices.

The McKellar & Martin Publishing Group, Limited, is a proud member of The Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia (ABPBC).
